Dr. Robert Roush graduated from Northern Illinois College of Optometry in 1943. After a tour of duty in the United States Navy, he started a solo practice in Kendallville in 1945, located in the second story of the Keller Building. This building is today the Northeastern Center. The practice was then moved to its current location at 117 W Rush Street in 1956. Dr. Robert would practice here until his retirement and move to Florida in 1988.

An expansion of the facility was completed in 1973 to accommodate the addition of Dr. Roush's son, Richard. He had graduated

from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 1970 and completed a three-year tour with the Army in Germany.

A second office location was established in 1973 as well at 106 W Main Street in Albion. Dr. Richard was the practicing optometrist in this office until his retirement in August, 2004.

Dr. R. Alan Roush also graduated from the Indiana University School of Optometry and, following a residency at the VA Hospital in Marshall, West Virginia with a concentration in ocular disease and The Eye Clinic in Indianapolis, joined the Kendallville practice in 1979. In 2000, the Kendallville office completed a major renovation and expansion that doubled the size of the facility. Dr. Alan now practices in both the Kendallville and Albion locations.

In June 2004, Dr. Matthew Will was added to the staff as an Associate following Dr. Richard's retirement. Dr. Will attended Indiana University for both is Bachelor of Science degree and his Doctor of Optometry. His residency rotations included the University Eye Clinic & Community Eye Clinic with concentration on primary and pediatric eye care; The Mexico Dept. of Infants and Family Eye Clinic in Guamajuato Mexico, with concentration on management of diabetic and hypertensive eye disease and glaucoma; and Eye Care Consultants in Evansville, IN. He works in both the Albion and Kendallville offices. In late 2004, work began on a new office location in Albion in the Northridge Medical Complex on Trail Ridge Road.

Elizabeth Roush, Dr. Alan's daughter, graduated from Indiana University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and is now a member of the IU School of Optometry Class of 2010.
